Events

The Medieval Siege Society undertakes events up and down the country for many heritage clients. Recent years have seen events at Hedingham Castle, Layer Marney Tower, Dunstable Priory, Bentley Wildfowl Trust, Naseby, Weald Country Park, Eltham Place, Kelmarsh Hall - History Live!, Old Sarum, Kenilworth Castle, Dover Castle, Battle Abbey, Bodiam Castle, Framlingham Castle, Carisbrooke Castle, Herstmonceux Castle - England's Medieval Festival.

Along with our public events, we also hold a number of training and social gathering throughout the year. Both of these are open to new and non-members and are a great way to meet people and ask questions of other members

Social Gatherings are a great way to meet people and ask questions before getting into kit. They are also a good way for members to catch up and stay in contact over the 'off season'. Most social gatherings are held in pubs and are attended by members from different households as well as those who are independent of households.

Fayretimes Festival
Date: 20/09/14 - 21/09/14
Time: 10am - 5pm (both days)
Where: Royal Gunpowder Mills, Beaulieu Dr, Waltham Abbey EN9 1JX
Description: This is a fantadtic opportunity for visitors and participants from across a wide comminuty of hobbies and interests to come together to share their passions and hopefully meet some new friends and learn about eachother's hobbies. this festival will include representatives from the reenactment community, LARP community, tabletop gamers, card gamers, video gamers and wa whole host of other participants. For anyone with a slightly 'geekly' hobby, this event is NOT to be missed!

Training events are open to non-members (subject to a day membership fee of £7) and are a good chance to get to know people and learn some new skills. Please contact the RTO (Regional Training Officer) for the training event if you wish to attend.

Regional Men at Arms Training (Bedford)
Date: 04/09/14
Time: 7pm - 10pm
Where: Aircraft Research Association, Manton Lane, Manton Industrial Estate, Bedford, MK41 7PF
Description: Tier 2 training for the society.
Please bring indoor and outdoor footwear.
Manton lane is just off the A6 as it enters Bedford from Rushden, proceed to very end of Manton lane to ARA, sports hall and free car park are before security gate and access to ARA.
