Joining Us

The Medieval Siege Society is a family friendly group offering a fun and interesting hobby to young and old alike, with members from all over the country, both new to re-enactment and long established members.  We can help you into the hobby with advice on how to make or where to buy any equipment you may need.  We can also put you in touch with members in your area who can help you to get involved in this rewarding & exciting hobby.

Our current membership stands at approximately 550 men, women and children and is open to everyone who is prepared to abide by the letter and spirit of all related rules, memoranda and articles.  Especially those rules concerned wth safety.

Within the re-enactment scenario you can learn a multitude of exciting new skills such as sword fighting, gunnery, archery, a new craft, how to play an instrument or perhaps you'd even like to be a battlefield surgeon!  The MSS is a very friendly society and many members are happy to give advice or teach you a new skill.

You will also get to visit many beautiful historic sites and castles.

There is also a great social scene and many new friendships have been forged with members often getting together for social occasions throughout the year.  Evening social events for the young such as Easter Egg hunts are also arranged to help keep them amused.
